During rigorous UL testing, the AmVault composite safes withstood sustained attacks by experienced UL experts using sledgehammers, power saws, carbide disc cutters, drills, and combinations of the most powerful tools available, and still earned the UL TL-15 label. The CE1814 features a 5-3\/4\" door constructed with a 2-3\/4\" defense barrier of outer and inner steel plates enclosing a proprietary high-density composite material made with nuggets and steel fibers engineered to resist concentrated attack. The formed body adds 3-1\/2\" of total protective thickness housing the same composite material. Six massive 1-1\/2\" chrome plated solid steel locking bolts are controlled by a spring-operated detent system that keeps bolts retracted while the door is open and automatically engages them when it closes. A full-door hardplate, two spring-loaded relock devices, and a reinforced drill-resistant door frame complete the security package. The 2-hour 350°F factory fire rating has been tested at temperatures up to 1,850°F.
