Description

The Mesa MBF5922C is a CDOJ-compliant gun safe built for responsible firearm owners who need a full-size, all-steel long-gun safe with 1-hour fire protection in a residential or light commercial setting. With a 14-gun capacity, 7.6 cubic feet of interior space, and a textured black finish, it is well suited for a dedicated safe room, bedroom closet, or garage installation. The body and door are constructed entirely from steel with no plastic components, with a body wall thickness of 1-3/4" and a door that measures 5-1/8" thick, both lined with fire-resistant board material.

The MBF5922C carries a 1-hour fire rating tested at temperatures up to 1,750°F, with interior temperatures held at or below 350°F throughout the test. A heat-activated door seal expands on contact to block smoke and gases, and the safe carries a factory-certified 2-story drop impact rating. Massive 1-1/2" diameter solid steel locking bolts engage in a 3-way locking system, and the U.L. Listed Group 2 combination lock is protected by a drill-resistant hard plate with a punch-activated relocking device behind it.

Inside, the fully upholstered interior accommodates 14 long guns in the standard Universal Gun Racks configuration, with multiple adjustable and removable shelves for handguns, ammunition, and accessories. A pocket door organizer adds additional storage on the door panel, and a built-in interior power outlet with 3 electrical sockets and 2 USB ports makes it easy to run a dehumidifier without drilling through the body. The brass spoke handle adds a substantial feel to the door, and four pre-drilled anchor holes with an included anchor kit allow for secure floor mounting.

Mesa offers 6 models of CDOJ Compliant MBF Series Gun Safe with 1 Hour Fire Protection:

The Mesa MBF5922C is backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

Is Shipping Really Free?
Yes. Free delivery is included on every order, anywhere in the United States (Not Alaska or Hawaii). The specific delivery method depends on the item's weight. See full shipping information here.

How Long will this take to arrive? Shipping timelines vary by product. Contact us at (254) 434-4989 for the estimated ship date. Once shipped, transit time typically runs 4–10 business days, depending on your location. You'll receive tracking when the safe leaves the warehouse. Safes under 150 lbs ships via UPS, USPS, or FedEx Ground, no appointment needed. Safes weighing 150 lbs or more ship via freight (LTL). The freight carrier will contact you directly to schedule a delivery appointment once the safe reaches your local terminal.

Can You Deliver It Inside My House and Bolt It Down?
We don't provide inside delivery directly, but we work with third-party installers across the country who do. Here's how it works: call us at 254-434-4989 for a recommendation in your area, and we'll provide you a quote. Once you've agreed on a price, place your order with us using the installer's address as the shipping destination. The installer receives the safe, inspects it, and schedules your final delivery appointment. See delivery options here.

Will This Fit Through My Doorway? Check the product's exterior dimensions (listed above) against your narrowest passage, interior doorways, stair landings, and tight turns. Most people remove the safe from the pallet before moving it indoors, so the safe's actual dimensions are what matter for doorways. Standard interior doorways (30–32" clear) accommodate most residential safes, but measure before ordering. Call us if you're uncertain.

Can I Change the Combination Myself?
Electronic locks: yes; it takes about 30 seconds. Instructions are included with your safe.

Mechanical dial locks: no, changing a dial combination requires a licensed safe technician. Attempting to change a dial combination yourself (or having an unlicensed locksmith do it) voids the lock warranty. A licensed safe tech maintains the warranty.

What if it arrives damaged?
For minor cosmetic damage, we typically send touch-up paint plus a partial refund. For significant damage, we send replacement parts or arrange a full replacement (you must annotate the damage(s) on the delivery receipt). Inspect the item upon delivery. Ask the driver if you can remove the packaging to inspect the actual product for damage. If you sign the freight bill, accepting delivery as undamaged, without inspecting the packaging or product, WE CANNOT FILE A FREIGHT CLAIM. Freight carriers WILL NOT honor a freight claim if you do not note any damage(s) on the delivery receipt.

What's Your Return Policy?
We offer a 30-day return policy on unused, in-original-condition products. The return freight for a heavy safe is substantial, so we strongly encourage you to call us before ordering if you're unsure about fit or configuration

Can I Place My Order By Phone?
Yes. Call us Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm CST at 254-434-4989.
You have two options: we can take the full order by phone or we can build your order and email you a payable invoice link so you can enter your own payment details securely.

At Secure Zoned, we are committed to offering our customers the most competitive prices on every product we carry. If you find the same item listed for less at another authorized online retailer, we will match it. Our goal is to make sure you feel confident that you are getting a great deal from a dealer you can trust.

How It Works

Submitting a price match request is straightforward. Contact us by phone, text, or email and provide proof of the lower price, such as a screenshot, a link to the product page, or an invoice. Our team will verify that the competitor qualifies under this policy and that the item is identical and in stock. If everything checks out, we will match the price or issue a refund for the difference.

If you have already placed your order, you have 5 days from the date of purchase to submit a price match request.

What Qualifies for a Price Match

A price match request will be considered when all of the following conditions are met:

  • The product is identical, including the same brand, model number, and included components.
  • The item is currently in stock and available for purchase on the competitor's website at the time of the request.
  • The competitor is a verified authorized online retailer for the brand.
  • The price match request is submitted within 5 days of your purchase date.
  • The comparison is based on the total price including standard shipping to your location.

What Does Not Qualify

The following are not eligible under this price match policy:

  • Prices from big box retailers, wholesale clubs, or non-authorized sellers such as Walmart, Costco, or Sam's Club.
  • Prices from auction or marketplace platforms such as eBay, Amazon third-party sellers, or Overstock.
  • Clearance, liquidation, closeout, or scratch-and-dent pricing.
  • Prices tied to rebates, promotional bundles, gift card offers, or buy one get one deals.
  • Used, open box, refurbished, or display model pricing.
  • Competitor pricing that includes inside delivery, installation, or other added service fees.
  • Typographical errors or pricing mistakes on any website.
  • Black Friday, Cyber Monday, or other limited once-a-year sale events.
  • Exchange orders or items already discounted through a separate promotion on our site.

Why We Only Match Authorized Dealers

This policy is limited to authorized online retailers for an important reason. When a safe is purchased from an unauthorized seller, including many third-party Amazon listings and grey market retailers, the manufacturer warranty is typically voided. Manufacturers only honor their warranties through their authorized dealer network.

A lower price from an unauthorized source may seem like a better deal, but it often means giving up the warranty and manufacturer support on a product you are buying for long-term protection. Every retailer we price match against must be authorized, so your coverage and peace of mind remain fully intact.

A Note From Us

We review every price match request personally. If approving a match would result in a loss that is not sustainable for our business, we reserve the right to make a final determination and will communicate with you directly and honestly if that situation arises.

Our goal is not to be the cheapest option online. Our goal is to be the most trustworthy one. When you buy from Secure Zoned, you are buying from a veteran-owned authorized dealer that stands behind every product and every promise we make.

Fast & Trackable Shipping Every order ships with real-time tracking for peace of mind. You'll know exactly where your safe is from the moment it leaves the warehouse to the moment it arrives at your door.

White-Glove Delivery Services Available - We offer services to help make delivery a smoother process. Our white-glove option includes inside delivery or installation. Heavy items shouldn't be your problem to move.

Price Matching - Found a better price? We'll match it or beat it! We're committed to offering the best value on every safe we carry, just send us the competitor's listing and we'll take care of the rest.

Standard delivery drops your safe at the curb (for heavier items). With garage delivery, your item can be brought up to your garage or the closest first door (typically up your driveway). White-Glove delivery takes it further. A trained two to four person crew brings the item inside your home to the exact room you choose, handles all the heavy equipment, and removes every piece of packaging before they leave.

Installation service is also available. The crew can anchor or bolt the safe to your floor or wall and verify the lock is functioning before they go. That's quoted separately based on your setup.

Pricing is based on safe weight and floor level, typically ranging from $250 to $1,500 for most residential deliveries. You'll receive a quote before committing.

You can add White-Glove delivery after placing your order, just contact us before your safe ships.

To request a garage delivery or inside delivery service, please see our White Glove Delivery Installation Services page.

When you see a backorder on a safe worth having, it's usually for a good reason. The product is in high demand, and it's not the kind of thing manufacturers keep stacked in a warehouse. Many of the safes we carry are built to order. Production runs are scheduled around real demand, materials are sourced, and every unit goes through quality control before it ships. That process takes time. Most dealers across the industry are looking at 8 to 12 weeks on high-demand models, sometimes longer.

Why order now instead of waiting?

The wait starts when your order is placed. By the time a backordered safe shows "In Stock," it's often already committed to customers who got in line first, and the next production run starts the clock all over again. There's also a pricing reality worth knowing: Manufacturer costs tied to materials and logistics can shift between production runs. Placing your order now locks in today's price, regardless of what happens before your safe ships. Some buyers also need documentation of a pending order for insurance or business purposes. A confirmed order covers that from day one.

The bottom line

If you've already decided this is the safe you want, a backorder isn't a reason to wait. It's a reason to get your order in before stock potentially runs out again before the next shipment arrives.Questions about lead time or availability? Call or text us at (254) 434-4989, and we'll give you the most current timeline we have.

Frequently Asked Questions About Mesa Safes

Manual override keys are only
available on electronic keypad models for specific Mesa Safe units. To access the key slot, start by removing the faceplate of the keypad: peel back the black oval Mesa emblem located above the number 2 button and unscrew the Phillips-head screw underneath. Once the screw is removed, pull back on the chrome, brass, or gold lip, depending on the keypad model, to reveal the key entry point for the skeleton key. Open the safe by turning the key a quarter turn to the left.

Run your fingers along the
underside of the keypad until a small plastic tab is felt. Pull it downward
until it completely detaches from the plastic mounting collar, which will
provide access to the 9-volt battery housed inside. If the battery is difficult
to remove through that access point, the faceplate can be removed instead: peel back the black oval Mesa emblem above the number 2 button and unscrew the Phillips-head screw. Once the screw is removed, pull back on the chrome, brass, or gold lip depending on the keypad model. Mesa Safe strongly recommends using only a 9-volt Duracell battery.

Each light color on the keypad indicates a different status:

Green: Full power; access to the safe is granted.

Yellow/Orange: The keypad is in lockout mode. Leave the battery installed and do not touch the keypad for 5 to 15 minutes, depending on the model. This allows the keypad to reset to the current code.

Red (solid: The battery is dead and needs to be replaced.

Red & Green (flashing together): The battery is running low. It may still have enough power to light up and beep, but not enough to retract the locking bolts. Replace the battery promptly.

Five beeps indicate either an incorrect code was entered or the battery level is too low to process the entry. If the code is confirmed correct, replace the battery with a fresh 9-volt Duracell and try again. If the issue continues after the battery replacement, contact Mesa Safe's Technical Support Department for further assistance.

Certain Mesa Safe models require a reset code or reset button to restore the factory default code. To protect the owner, Mesa Safe requires verification of ownership, such as a notarized document and/or proof of purchase, before proceeding. The completed Notary form must be mailed to Mesa Safe's corporate office in Orange, CA. A $15.00 fee applies for override codes and combinations. Visit the Mesa Safe website for direct access to the notary form.

No. A dead battery will not erase the programmed code. The code remains stored internally until the safe is powered up again. Simply install a fresh battery and operate the lock normally, the code will be fully intact.

Yes, this conversion is
possible. Mesa Safe strongly recommends having a licensed locksmith perform
this service. If any adjustments to the locking mechanism are made by someone
other than an approved locksmith while the one-year warranty on the locking
mechanism is still active, the warranty will be rendered null and void.

Try dialing numbers slightly
above and below the current combination, within a range of five numbers in
either direction. For example, if the combination is 5-10-15, try 6-11-16 or
4-9-14. Small variances in dial calibration can sometimes cause the combination
to land slightly off.

Warranty terms vary by product
line. For complete warranty information specific to a Mesa Safe model, please
visit the Technical Support section of the Mesa Safe website, where both the
General Warranty and Gun Safe Warranty details are available.

Mesa Safe products are
available through a network of authorized retailers. Visit Mesa Safe's website
and click the "Where to Buy" tab on the home screen to find a list of
verified dealers in your area. Mesa Safe does not sell directly to the public.

Mesa Safe Gun safes, Burglary
and Fire, and High Security models are equipped with a heat-activated seal that
expands and seals the door when exposed to extreme heat. In a fire situation,
this seal provides protection against water from fire hoses and sprinklers.
However, it is not designed to protect against flooding or water intrusion if
the water level rises to the height of the locking mechanism.

Instructions vary depending on
the lock type installed on the safe:

For MSL500 locks: follow the
step-by-step instructions at mesasafe.com/technical-support/msl-500/index.html

For MSL50 locks: follow the
instructions at mesasafe.com/technical-support/msl-50/index.html

For Sargent and Greenleaf
Titan locks: refer to the manufacturer's instruction guide available on the
Sargent and Greenleaf website.

For safes with a mechanical
dial lock: a local licensed locksmith must be contacted to have the combination
changed.

An E-Code indicates that an
incorrect code is being entered into the safe. The Emergency code or override
key will be required to regain access. For ownership verification, Mesa Safe
requires a notarized document and/or proof of purchase before moving forward.
The completed Notary form should be mailed to Mesa Safe's corporate office in
Orange, CA. A $15.00 fee applies for override codes and combinations. The
notary form is available on the Mesa Safe website.

Replacement keys can be
ordered directly through Mesa Safe's customer support. To submit a key request,
the safe's serial number, model number, and the desired key quantity will be
needed. A key order request form is available on the Mesa Safe website under
the Customer Care section.

The handles are pre-packaged
inside the safe in a plastic bag. This bag also contains the floor anchor plugs
and shelf clips for the unit.

To open the safe before
attaching the handles, insert a Phillips-head screwdriver into one of the holes
on the hub. Enter the access code and turn the screwdriver to the left. Two
beeps will confirm the safe has unlocked and the door can be opened.

Only 2 anchors are required to
properly secure the safe to the floor. If additional anchors are needed for a
specific installation, they can be purchased by contacting Mesa Safe's customer
support team.

On most models, the serial
number is located on the front of the door, on the bottom right-hand side near
the hinge. Depending on the model, the serial number may also be found on the
right side of the safe or on the top left of the front face.

Mesa Safe recommends using a
Duracell or Energizer battery with an expiration date at least five years into
the future. This ensures optimal performance of the electronic locking
mechanism.
