The Ranger 66 safe offers a 60-minute fire rating at 1400°F, with UL-rated fireboard lining the door, walls, and ceiling. The Palusol® heat-expanding door seal activates under heat and expands over six times its size to block smoke and flames. Unlike many safes with internal hinges that weaken fire resistance, this model features external solid strap hinges, maintaining a continuous fire barrier and ensuring total interior protection. The composite steel door also includes an additional fireboard layer behind the door panel organizer for enhanced protection.
Engineered to resist forced entry, the Winchester Ranger 66 boasts a UL-listed Residential Security Container (RSC) rating and exceeds California DOJ (CDOJ) firearm safety standards. The safe body is constructed from solid 12-gauge steel, thicker and stronger than many competitors. Robotic continuous welds, a drill-resistant, heat-treated hard plate, and a titanium disk protect the lock mechanism. An auxiliary re-locker ensures the boltwork stays secure under attack, significantly increasing resistance against sophisticated break-in attempts.
